Instructions

Step 1 of 10

Peel, core, and slice apples thinly

Step 2 of 10

Toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice

Step 3 of 10

Roll out bottom crust, place in 9-inch pie pan

Step 4 of 10

Fill with apple mixture, dot with butter

Step 5 of 10

Roll out top crust, place over filling

Step 6 of 10

Crimp edges, cut vents in top

Step 7 of 10

Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar

Step 8 of 10

Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes

Step 9 of 10

Reduce to 350°F (175°C), bake 40 more minutes until golden

Cool completely before slicing
