Instructions

Step 1 of 9

Steam clams until they open, reserve liquid, chop clam meat

Step 2 of 9

Dice bacon, cook until crispy, remove from pot

Step 3 of 9

Sauté diced onion and celery in bacon fat

Step 4 of 9

Add butter, stir in flour to make roux

Step 5 of 9

Add clam liquid and diced potatoes

Step 6 of 9

Add bay leaves and thyme, simmer until potatoes tender

Step 7 of 9

Stir in cream and chopped clams

Step 8 of 9

Heat through without boiling

Step 9 of 9

Remove bay leaves, garnish with bacon and fresh thyme
