Instructions

Step 1 of 10

Char ginger and onion under broiler

Step 2 of 10

Boil bones for 5 minutes, drain and rinse

Step 3 of 10

Cover bones with fresh water, add charred aromatics and spices

Step 4 of 10

Simmer broth for 6 hours, skimming impurities

Step 5 of 10

Strain broth, season with fish sauce and salt

Step 6 of 10

Soak rice noodles until soft

Step 7 of 10

Slice beef very thinly

Step 8 of 10

Place noodles in bowl, top with raw beef slices

Step 9 of 10

Ladle hot broth over (cooks the beef)

Serve with basil, bean sprouts, lime, and chili
